Debconf4 - basic information
Submitted by rudy on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 - 16:47

DebConf is the annual Debian developers meeting, a event based around talks, demos, coding parties and discussions. It will be highly technical in nature.

Its target audience is Debian developers, though technical Debian users are welcome to attend as well.

The 5th annual Debian Conference will be held in Porto Alegre, Brazil from May 26th to June 6th. Debconf will also be participanting in the V Fórum Internacional do Software Livre, one of the biggest Free Software events in the world, from June 3rd to 5th.

Previous Debconf's have featured speakers from around the world. It has also been used for developing key software for Debian and other projects, including the new Debian Installer and improving Debian's internationalization.

Brazil has become well known as a major supporter of the FLOSS movement, with support from the highest levels of government, so we are pleased to be able to hold Debconf4 at SESC.
